Holidays In Ecuador
Ecuador is a fascinating country for many reasons, one of them being that the world’s equator line passes through it – making it a very popular visiting location for keen travelers. Taking a holiday in Ecuador is great, but like any other holiday, planning it can make it even better. Here are a few things you might need to know about Ecuador before you set out to make your dream trip there!
First and most importantly, no trip to Ecuador is one without paying a visit to the Middle of the World Monument.
As you’re probably guessing from the name, it pays tribute to the fact that the equator passes through Ecuador – but what makes it even more unique is the yellow line running underneath it, signifying exactly where the equator line lies! It’s not everyday you get to take a picture of yourself standing in both of the Earth’s hemispheres simultaneously, so grab your camera and snap a few!
If you’re in South Quito, you should go up to the statue of the Virgin Mary – it’s situated on a hill which part of the town spans over, and opens up a magnificent view below, letting you see the entire city – and of course memorize those sights with your camera. The legend has it that Mary is the city’s guardian, ever watchful from above to ensure that nothing endangers the city.
If you enjoy spotting wildlife, take a trip to the Galapagos Islands, which would give you the most incredible sights of wild species you could imagine. And with all the things we’ve listed so far, you have no excuse for not making your holiday in Ecuador one of the most unforgettable experiences of your life!
